Our entrepreneurial partnership initiative is a supported employment project that brings one or more people served and a staff member together to try and create meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. Our first project is Goldie’s Gourmet Goodies. Dawn (person served) and Cori (staff member) have partnered to create and sell delicious gourmet inside-out cupcakes and snack mix shakers at local framer’s markets. Dawn works with our certified cooks in the Center’s kitchen to create these culinary delights.

They attended their first farmer’s market outside of Likables & Recyclables at 5454 Bridge Street in Roscoe. They were supposed to be at the market from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM but they sold out of cupcakes and snack mix shakers before 2:00 PM! The hottest item was The King inside-out cupcake. It is a banana flavored cake, filled with creamy peanut butter frosting and topped with thick cut bacon crumbles and a sweet glaze.

Watch our events page for details on where Goldie’s Gourmet Goodies will be next.
